Overview
The Tactile Tours offer blind and low-vision patrons the chance to touch and examine costumes, props and other items from the QPAC Collections. These tours provide rich verbal descriptions that bring the visual details of each item to life – offering a unique, hands-on experience of QPAC’s history and the stories behind the objects.

What happens if I am late for my tour?
The tour will depart on time. If you arrive late, please report to Stage Door Concierge in the Pedestrian Tunnel, where staff will advise you how to join the tour.
What can I bring with me on the tour?
Where possible, limit the bags you bring with you as cloaking facilities are limited. For safety, flat, enclosed shoes must be worn on the tour.
Tactile Tour 1: QPAC Collections Exhibition

Explore QPAC’s rich history through touch and storytelling. Touch and examine textiles, masks, instruments, hats, vintage merchandise, props, old technology and accessories from the extensive QPAC Collections.
Meeting Location
Your tour guide will meet you on Level M – Ticket Sales Level outside the Cloakroom to commence the tour. Please aim to arrive 15 mins prior to the start time to avoid missing the commencement of the tour. This tour is stair-free.

Tactile Tour 2: Props and Costumes
Sunday, 31 August 2025, 1pm | Cremorne Theatre
Get hands-on with costumes and props from some of QPAC’s most memorable shows. Touch textiles, examine accessories and explore selected pieces from the QPAC Collections – each one with a story to tell about the productions that brought them to life.
Meeting Location
Your tour guide will meet you on the Ground Floor of the Cremorne Theatre by the Cremorne Theatre Box Office to commence the tour. Please aim to arrive 15 mins prior to the start time to avoid missing the commencement of the tour. This tour is stair-free.
