Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors give strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both First Nations and non-First Nations peoples, towards creating a better Queensland.

Ticketing & Booking

Where is the Box Office?

The main Box Office is located on Level M, upstairs from the Grey Street entrance.

  • If you are collecting tickets within one hour of your performance start time, use the theatre specific box office:
  • Concert Hall and Lyric Theatre Box Office: Level M, upstairs from the Grey Street entrance.
  • Playhouse Box Office: Level 1 of the Playhouse. The entrance is adjacent to the Wheel of Brisbane.
  • Cremorne Theatre Box Office: Ground level at the Cremorne Theatre entrance. The entrance faces the river.
  • Glasshouse Theatre Box Office: Level 1 at the Glasshouse Theatre. The entrance is on Russell Street.

Check opening hours on our Contact Us page.

How do I book tickets?

QTIX is the official ticketing service for events at QPAC. QTIX is a Queensland-based ticketing services provider that is owned and operated by QPAC. Tickets to all QPAC events are sold through QTIX.

  • Online at qpac.com.au
  • Phone by calling 136 246
  • In person at the QPAC Box Office or authorised QTIX outlets
  • Mail via QTIX
  • Any tickets purchased through unauthorised sales channels may be seized or cancelled without refund or exchange and the bearer of the ticket may be denied admission. Details about the safest way to buy can be found on our website. Before proceeding with your purchase, please read our Terms and Conditions.

What payments methods are accepted?

QPAC accepts

  • Credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club.
  • PayPal: Tickets are sent to the email address on your PayPal account, which may differ from the email address on your QPAC account. Keep both accounts consistent to avoid confusion.
  • PayPal Pay in 4: Split your purchase into four interest-free fortnightly instalments. It is subject to PayPal’s eligibility criteria. Learn more at PayPal.
  • QPAC Gift Certificates: Redeemable by phone or in person only (not currently online).

How will I receive my tickets?

Tickets are generally emailed to you. You can either print them at home or show them on your mobile device upon entry to the theatre.

If you need your tickets posted, they will be sent by Australia Post standard (regular) mail.  Additional charges may apply for some delivery methods.

What is the transaction fee?

A transaction fee applies to all purchases, charged once per transaction regardless of how many tickets you buy. This is always displayed separately at checkout so you can see it clearly.

The fee covers the cost of QTIX's ticketing services, including staff, technology, and administration.

How do I purchase or redeem a gift certificate?

QPAC gift certificates are valid for three (3) years from the date of purchase.

  • Buy online: Purchase a gift certificate
  • Redeem: Call QTIX on 136 246 or present the certificate at the QTIX Box Office at QPAC.
  • QPAC gift certificates cannot currently be redeemed online. Please call or visit in person to use yours.

Are discounts available for groups?

Many events offer group discounts for adult groups and school groups. Please email your group enquiry or school group enquiry to our Group Sales team or phone them on (07) 3840 7466.

I've lost my ticket. What should I do?

Call 136 246 as soon as possible. In most cases a Lost Ticket Pass (replacement tickets) can be arranged for collection at the Box Office on the day of the performance only.

If your tickets were stolen, the theft should also be reported to the police.

How do I book tickets to an Opening Night?

The timing of an official opening night for a performance at QPAC is often at the discretion of the Producer or Promoter of that performance. The opening night date and time may not be finalised when tickets first go on sale.

There may or may not be performances that occur in the season prior to opening night. At times performances prior to an official opening night may be labelled a "preview performance".

However, many major touring productions may simply have full-priced performances available prior to their official opening night event based on a timing preference for that event. Some productions may even choose not to have an official opening night event.

If you specifically want to know whether the performance you are buying tickets for is an official opening night, a preview performance or a performance that falls before the official opening night we recommend you contact the Box Office on 136 246.

Accessibility

How do I book accessible seating?

All QPAC venues offer accessible seating for those with access requirements and their companions. This seating can be booked, subject to availability, by calling the Box Office on 136 246.

What accessible performances are available?

QPAC offers audio described, Auslan interpreted, captioned and relaxed performances as well as tactile tours. Find out more about upcoming accessible performances at QPAC.

Can I use my Companion Card at QPAC?

QPAC is proud to be an affiliate of the Queensland Government's Companion Card program. Companion Card holders receive a complimentary second ticket for their chosen companion.

To book Companion Card tickets: Call 136 246 or in person at the Box Office. Companion Card details need to be provided at the time of booking.

Refunds, Cancellations & Ticket Resales

Can I get a refund or cancel my tickets?

It is a condition of sale that there are no refunds, cancellations or exchanges once bookings have been confirmed. This is in line with the LPA Code of Practice for Event Ticketing in Australia.

What happens if a performance is cancelled?

If your performance is cancelled:

  • Paid by credit card: You will be refunded automatically. No action needed unless your card details have changed.
  • Paid by credit card and card details have changed: Email info@qtix.com.au with "changed credit card details" in the subject line. Include your name and booking reference only. Do not include your card number. QTIX will contact you via phone to get your new card details.
  • Paid by cash or EFTPOS: QTIX will contact you using the details you provided at the time of booking to organise a refund.

Can I resell my tickets?

QPAC recognises that some patrons choose to re-sell their tickets. QPAC discourages this practice, as authenticity is only guaranteed where tickets are purchased directly from QPAC or an agreed provider.

The Information Privacy Act prohibits QPAC from disclosing patrons' personal information to third parties. Accordingly, QPAC will only discuss specific booking details (including refunds or patron information) with the original ticket purchaser.

The re-sale of any tickets at a premium or for commercial purposes without QPAC or the Presenter's prior written consent is a contravention of our conditions of ticket sale. Any ticket sold in contravention may be cancelled without refund and the bearer of the ticket may be denied admission.

Any ticket purchase through an unapproved provider is made entirely at the purchaser's own risk.

For enquiries, please phone the Box Office on 136 246 or email them to info@qtix.com.au.

Tips for arriving on time

QPAC is located in a vibrant part of the city, with many events occurring, particularly on the weekends, that may affect your arrival time at QPAC. To avoid missing the start of your performance, we strongly suggest you plan your transport and leave home early to avoid any delays and arrive in good time to enjoy your show.

For more information visit our Getting Here and Traffic Update pages.

Venue & Theatres

Where are the theatres located within QPAC?

  • Lyric Theatre and Concert Hall: Melbourne Street side of the building
  • Cremorne Theatre: On the side facing the Brisbane River
  • Playhouse: Faces South Bank, adjacent to the Wheel of Brisbane
  • Glasshouse Theatre: Russell Street, next to the Playhouse

Read more information on how to find your theatre.

What is QPAC's cloakroom policy?

All five theatres have a free cloakroom for ticket holders. Please have your performance tickets available for inspection at the cloakroom.

Cloakroom locations:

  • Lyric Theatre / Concert Hall — Level M, opposite Box Office
  • Playhouse / Cremorne Theatre — Ground floor of each theatre
  • Glasshouse Theatre — Level 1

Items that must be cloaked (not permitted in theatres):

  • Bags larger than A4 (30cm × 21cm) — including handbags.
  • All backpacks and multiple bags
  • Umbrellas, flowers, and oversized items

Under our terms and conditions of entry, QPAC has the right to refuse to cloak any item that is deemed inappropriate ie food items that require refrigeration, animals, weapons or items that are deemed to be weapons (gel blasters).

If you are unsure whether a bag or other item needs to be cloaked, please seek guidance from QPAC Cloak Room staff.

To ensure the safety and security of all patrons, QPAC reserves the right to inspect all bags and personal belongings that patrons wish to take into the theatres. Searches will be carried out courteously and discreetly.

  • Cloakrooms open 1 hour before the start of your performance and close 30 minutes after the performance ends. Any items not claimed within 30 minutes of the end of the performance will be transferred to lost property. They can be reclaimed through QPAC Stage Door.

What are the foyer opening times?

Foyers generally open 60 to 90 minutes prior to the performance start time. For more information visit our venue page.

What is the dress code?

There is no strict dress code at QPAC. Smart casual is generally appropriate — more formal than you would wear to a barbecue, but less so than you would wear to a wedding.

On opening nights, guests tend to dress up for the occasion. As all theatres are air-conditioned, you may want to bring a light jacket, especially in summer. Shoes must be worn at all times for safety reasons.

Can I film or take photos?

Due to copyright restrictions, photography and recording are not permitted during performances.

Are booster seats available for children?

A limited number of booster cushions are available. Please ask an usher before the start of the performance. To avoid disappointment, you are welcome to bring your own soft cushion (not a car booster seat).

I've lost something at QPAC. How do I find it?

We keep a register of all lost property found at QPAC. To check if your property has been found, please contact QPAC Stage Door on (07) 3840 7500 or email stagedoor@qpac.com.au.

How do I find my theatre door for the Lyric Theatre and Concert Hall?

Each venue has doors numbered from 1 onwards. Please check your ticket carefully for the correct venue and door number.

Concert Hall and Lyric Theatre: These venues share the main foyer off Melbourne Street. On the left-hand side as you come up the stairs, you will find the even numbered doors for the Lyric Theatre, while on the right-hand side, you will find the odd numbered doors for the Concert Hall.

To find the even numbered doors for the Concert Hall, cross the foyer to the Grey Street (Railway) side of the building. To find the odd numbered doors for the Lyric Theatre, cross the foyer to the riverside of the building. If you are unsure of how to find your door, please ask an usher.

My QPAC Account

How do I create an account?

You can create an account when making a booking, or directly via the registration form. A verification email will be sent — click "Verify Now" in that email to activate your account. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.

Please contact the QTIX Call Centre on 136 246 if you have any questions regarding your account or need help with the account registration.

I have forgotten my password. How do I reset it?

Go to the account login page, enter your email, and click the Forgot your password link. Follow the prompts on the page to receive a reset link by email.

Use the same email address you used when booking. If you didn't create an account at the time, you'll need to register first.

Why am I being asked to verify my email?

Email verification adds a layer of security to your QPAC account. If you already have a QPAC account, you'll be prompted to verify your email address when you next log in. New QPAC accounts require email verification as part of the account creation process.
