Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors give strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both First Nations and non-First Nations peoples, towards creating a better Queensland.

Overview

A hands-on white glove tour to experience a selection of the most precious items from QPAC’s Archives and Arts Collection. Exclusively available to Friends of QPAC.

Since 1985, QPAC's Collections has amassed over 80,000 items. It's a treasure trove of Queensland theatre history, featuring items that reveal the creative process of hundreds of artists and stage works, and milestone moments from QPAC’s history, alongside 40 years of everyday behind-the-scenes experiences from the State’s performing arts centre.

Join us for a guided tour of this curated selection with our passionate QPAC Collections team and learn about each artefact’s histories and connections to QPAC. The tour will also feature one of QPAC’s most prolific theatre designers, Bill Haycock, who’ll share insights on his design process as you’re invited to experience his set and costumes.

This event also features an exclusive introduction to Recollect, our brand-new online collection management system.
