Overview

By Charles Dickens
Adapted and created by Shake & Stir Theatre Co

This December, the award-winning theatrical phenomenon Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol returns for its ninth triumphant season – wrapped up beautifully and ready once again to warm hearts, lift spirits and conjure the magic of Christmas.

Brimming with humour, heart and festive wonder, this breathtaking, grand-scale production has become a cherished seasonal tradition for audiences of all ages.

On Christmas Eve, Ebenezer Scrooge is impatiently waiting for the merriment and mayhem to end. But when four ghostly visitors sweep him through Christmases past, present and future, Scrooge is forced to confront the choices that have shaped his life and the lonely fate that awaits him. Can he find redemption and change his ways before time runs out?

Featuring live music, yuletide carols, lavish design and, of course, snow, A Christmas Carol is quite simply “the most uplifting theatrical experience you’ll have this year” (The Courier-Mail).

  • It’s the perfect Christmas play, really, and now I want to see it again. And again. And next year as well.
