Terms & Conditions

The 2022 Moro Spanish Film Festival will take place nationally from 19 April to 18 May in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Brisbane and Byron Bay. ¡Viva la fiesta!

Presented by Palace, The 2022 Moro Spanish Film Festival is a rich programme of thirty four films consisting of twenty-one features from Spain, ten from across Latin America and another three from Australia and the USA.

The sensational line-up of leading Spanish language cinema from Spain and Latin America features famous faces, including Penélope Cruz, Antonio Banderas, Oscar Martínez, Paco León and Blanca Portillo along with exciting new talent and will be screening nationally at Palace Cinemas, Luna Palace Cinemas and Palace Nova Cinemas.

The Moro Spanish Film Festival tickets are on sale now.

By entering the competition, you agree to the following terms and conditions. 

Promoter 

  1. This competition is conducted by Queensland Performing Arts Trust trading as Queensland Performing Arts Centre, ABN 13 967 571 128, of corner Grey and Melbourne Streets, South Bank Qld 4101 (QPAC). 

Eligibility 

  1. Entrants must be a resident in Queensland. 
  1. Entrants must be a current QPAC Facebook follower. 
  1. Entrants must not be: 
  1. a Board member, director, officer or employees of QPAC or any entity associated with the competition (including any prize suppliers); or 
  2. a member of the immediate family of any of the above. 
  1. QPAC may, in its absolute discretion: 
  1. refuse to enter an illegible entry into the competition; 
  2. require an entrant to provide evidence of eligibility (including, without limitation, photographic identification) before awarding a prize; and 
  3. refuse to award a prize to an entrant who does not provide evidence of eligibility to QPAC’s satisfaction. 

Entry 

  1. Entry to the competition is free. 
  1. Entrants may only enter via their own Facebook page. 
  1. An eligible person may enter the competition by commenting on the Spanish Film Festival post on QPAC’s Facebook page. 
  1. Only 1 entry is permitted per subscriber. QPAC will not accept any additional entries. 
  1. All entries become the property of QPAC. 
  1. QPAC may, at its absolute discretion, refuse to enter illegible entries into the competition. 
  1. QPAC does not take any responsibility or accept any liability for any illegible entries.
  1. QPAC may, at its absolute discretion, disqualify any or all entries from, prohibit further participation in this competition by and/or refuse to award any prize to any person who: 
  1. tampers with or benefits from any tampering with the entry process or with the operation of the competition; 
  2. acts in violation of these conditions or in breach of law; 
  3. acts in a disruptive manner or with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person; or 
  4. acts in a manner which may diminish the good name or reputation of QPAC and the suppliers of any prizes. 

Opening Date 

  1. The Competition opens at 9am AEST on Thursday 21 April, 2022. 

Closing Date 

  1. The Competition closes at 11.59pm AEST on Monday, 25 April 2022. Entries received by QPAC after this date will not be accepted. 

Draw 

  1. The Competition will be drawn at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre on Tuesday, 26 April 2022. 
  1. There will be no elimination round. 
  1. The ten (10) winners will be drawn randomly from all eligible entries. 

Prizes 

Ten (10) double passes to see any movie of your choice (subject to availability), at Palace Cinema's. (Value $40 AUD per double pass, total value $400). 

  1. The prize values set out above are the retail values provided by the suppliers and are correct at the time of publication.
      
  2. QPAC is not responsible for and accepts no liability for any variation in prize values.

  3. The prizes must be taken as offered and cannot be varied. The prizes are not redeemable for cash, exchangeable for any other prize or transferable to any other person. QPAC will not substitute, replace or refund prizes.

  4. QPAC is not responsible for any costs incurred by winners (and any accompanying guests) in taking their prize. The winners (and any accompanying guests) are responsible for all additional costs and arrangements associated with using their prize (including but not limited to travel, accommodation, transfers, insurance, spending money, drinks, meals, gratuities, service charges, booking changes, optional extras and applicable tax). 

  5. The prizes remain the property of QPAC and/or any prize supplier until collected by the winner.  

  Results 

  1. QPAC will notify winners by social media message.
  1. QPAC will not publish the results. 
  1. QPAC’s decision of the results is final. QPAC will not enter into any correspondence with entrants regarding the results. 

Prize Collection

  1. Winners will be contacted with details of how to claim their prize. 
  1. In order to claim their prize and as a condition of their prize being awarded, winners may be required to supply name, address and email details. 

Redraw 

  1. Prizes will be redrawn if: 
  1. QPAC is unable to contact the winner; or
  2. QPAC refuses to award the prize to the winner (in accordance with these terms and conditions). 
  1. If a redraw is necessary, it will be drawn at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday, 27 April 2022. 
  1. Prizes that remain unclaimed or uncollected will be dealt with as follows: 
  1. any tickets or other items that have expired or perished will not be replaced, exchanged, refunded or redrawn.
  1. Redraw winners will be notified the day of the redraw. 

Privacy 

  1. QPAC may enter information, including personal information, provided in entries into QPAC’s database and use the information for marketing, promotional and publicity purposes.
  1. For information about how QPAC uses your personal information and how to access or amend that information, please see our Privacy Policy. 
  1. By entering the competition, you consent to QPAC’s collection and use of your personal information as described above. 

General 

  1. QPAC is not liable for any loss (including, without limitation, direct, indirect or consequential loss or loss of profits) expense, damage or injury suffered or sustained by any person, arising directly or indirectly, through any act, omission (whether negligent or otherwise), out of or in connection with the competition or any prizes, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law). 
  1. Nothing in these conditions restricts, excludes or modifies or purports to restrict, exclude or modify any statutory consumer rights under any applicable law including the Australian Consumer Law.
