Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors give strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both First Nations and non-First Nations peoples, towards creating a better Queensland.

Overview

Gyles meets up with Joanna Lumley to talk about her extraordinary life and career.

Gyles Brandreth (author, broadcaster, One Show reporter, Just A Minute regular, and editor of the Oxford Book of Theatrical Anecdotes), invited national treasure Joanna Lumley to join him on stage at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket, to talk about her extraordinary life and career – and to share and perform some of her favourite pieces of poetry.

From her childhood in Kashmir to starring on Broadway, from her days as a model in the Swinging Sixties through The New Avengers to Absolutely Fabulous, Gyles takes Joanna on a roller-coaster ride through a unique life with amazing (and frequently hilarious) stories of her times with everyone from David Niven to Will.i.Am – interspersed with magical moments from some of her favourite poets, from Edward Lear to John Betjeman.

This is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to see one of the world’s most-loved actresses in conversation.  Laughter and tears guaranteed.

Schools access includes 40 student licenses and a 84-day rental period for $100.
