Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors give strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both First Nations and non-First Nations peoples, towards creating a better Queensland.

Overview

It’s Sumptuous! It’s Silly! It’s Stupendous … It’s a Soiree of Song & Satire
(And it’s just for you, Brisbane!)

Dust off your finest and polish your monocles, Brisbane! Prospero Arts is serving up a delightfully dizzying, wonderfully witty, and downright joyful concert celebration of the undisputed kings of theatrical chaos: Gilbert & Sullivan.

Whether you’re a lifelong Gilbert & Sullivan fan, who knows every word to “The Major-General” or a complete newcomer who just loves a bit of spectacular silliness – we all need a show like this right now!

We’re packing a treasure chest full of humour, world-class talent, and irresistible earworms, taking you on a rapid-fire journey through the absolute best bits!

The A-Team of Absurdity
Steering this magnificent ship of musical madness is none other than Australia’s own, director Stuart Maunder AM. He’s rounding up a stellar crew of beloved Queensland and national stage royalty, backed by a massive 19-piece orchestra live on stage, led by our magical maestro James Dobinson.

Starring Ben Mingay, Cassandra Seidemann, Nina Korbe, Billy Bourchier, Jason Barry-Smith and Irena Lysiuk, A Soirée of Song and Satire is Gilbert & Sullivan as it was meant to be experienced!

Expect soaring vocals, sharp-witted satire, gorgeous romance, and just the right amount of beautiful, theatrical madness.

Grab your tickets before they sail away!
