Overview
In Jarjum Life Museum you won’t see dinosaurs, butterflies, kings’ crowns or queens’ capes.
Step into the QPAC Tunnel and explore the Jarjum Life Museum – a museum like no other, created by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, known as jarjum. This unique collection offers an intimate glimpse into the lives of jarjum, showcasing their stories, creativity, and culture in the here and now.
Curated over an 8-year period, the exhibition features original artworks, songs, stories, and artefacts created and collected by jarjum. Each piece tells a story of identity, community, and what it means to grow up as a jarjum today.
Jarjum PlaySpace – Playhouse Lounge
Extend your experience in the Jarjum PlaySpace, located in the Playhouse Lounge. Here, you can read stories from the Jarjum collection, play with puzzles, create your own artworks, and learn Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages alongside friends, family, and community.
