Overview
Season Closing Gala
You may have witnessed our Chief Conductor Umberto Clerici and Concertmaster Natsuko Yoshimoto in concert – but have you ever heard these powerhouse musicians take centre stage together? Clerici swaps baton for bow when he tears through a cello solo alongside our showstopping violin superstar in Brahms’ Double Concerto. There’ll be two virtuosic performers on stage, but it’s not a competition – rather you’ll hear a musical conversation that glows with genuine care and compassion. Clerici is back to the podium in Four Last Songs, where Australian soprano Eleanor Lyons soars over Strauss’ exquisitely atmospheric melodies that don’t feel out of place next to Wagner’s Overture to The Flying Dutchman.
