Saturday, 3 August is all about kids at Clancestry, filled with fun and free activities for little ones and their families! Children of all ages can play and explore all that’s on offer at QPAC.
From face painting and arts and crafts, to dance workshops, there will be plenty to keep the children engaged while they explore their curiosity and creativity.
See the host of activities to get involved in below and be sure to stop by for songs, stories, and cultural activities for the whole family. All activities will be free with no bookings required – just make sure to save the date in your calendars.

IUIH Arts & Crafts

Get crafty with IUIH! Presented by the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH), explore cultural art activities such as scratch art, clay sculpting, story books and collage using natural materials. While you’re getting creative at the IUIH stall, be sure to add your very own cardboard hand to the Deadly Kids Community board and be a part of our everlasting legacy.
Face Painting with Kaylah Coghill

Kaylah Coghill is a Yagara/Koenpul woman from Nginila and Tjerangari, which is Inala and Stradbroke Island. She is a direct descendant of the Yagara peoples of Megandjin, who are the traditional custodians of Brisbane as well as the Koenpul peoples of Quandamooka, who are the traditional custodians of the Moreton Bay region.
Kaylah is a teacher aide who works in her local community of Inala. She has spent the last ten years raising her two children and working within the local communities of Megandjin teaching Indigenous workshops on art, music, language and dancing. She has also participated in many creative community and council projects in and around the Inala area, working with Elders, teens and young children.
Hip Hop Dance Workshops with Georgie Baumann

For all those little drifters looking to move and groove, come on down and join Georgie at Clancestry! A jam-packed 45-minute workshop filled with hip hop grooves and dance backed games to have fun and learn some of the foundations of hip hop.
Georgie Baumann (she/her/hers) is a proud Butchulla and South Sea Islander Woman from Hervey Bay. Georgie is the founder of Drifters, Big Notas and Co. where she teaches workshops and choreography for all ages. As a performer, Georgie has recently joined the Proudfoot & Friends team at QPAC, travelled to Cunnamulla for school holiday workshops and facilitated workshops during NAIDOC Week 2023 in Hervey Bay. You may recognise Georgie from the Podsquad app by Health and Wellbeing QLD or from hyping up the crowd at the Broncos and Big Bash Games.

Meet our deadly friends – Gooril, Gudya, Pow-Why, Binkin and Gargarra! They are so excited to play hide and seek with you all! They have hidden themselves around QPAC, waiting for you to come and find them! If you find them all, you will receive a temporary tattoo!
Find Our Friends teaches children the history and cultural knowledge behind Brisbane and its fauna by combining traditional animal names with the well-known children’s game of hide and seek.
