The QPAC backstage experience. History; architecture; performing arts culture

With over 30 years experience in presenting some of the world’s most famous shows and artists, from The Lion King to the Bolshoi Ballet, from Billy Connolly to Carl Barron, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre houses a universe of backstage secrets. Walking through the heart of a Brisbane heritage listed icon, our backstage tours give you the opportunity to explore the theatres and discover the history and architecture of QPAC.

With one of our experienced team members dedicated to your group, you will be taken on a journey filled with stories and theatrical tales, giving you an insider’s perspective into a busy performing arts centre. You just never know what you might discover. Our tours are tailored each week depending on what exciting shows we are hosting in our theatres.

“The tour was AMAZING! The kids loved it. Our Tour Guide was totally awesome … with quips and anecdotes and crazy information that the students lapped up. The place, though, stole the show. Two massive Wicked props, sweeping top stalls, light shows in the Concert Hall and lavish dressing rooms.

They will never forget this experience: made our country kids into thespian-ites for life.” Yeppoon State High School
