Australian talent was well and truly in the international spotlight at Broadway’s night of nights this week, as the 74th Tony Awards was held in the Winter Garden Theatre Broadway, New York.
Our warmest congratulations go to esteemed Australian producer Global Creatures who made history with Moulin Rouge! The Musical – the first Australian production to win a Tony for Best Musical, taking out a total of 10 awards from 14 nominations.
And as the only commercial musical currently playing in Australia right now, the cast from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory shone in a special video, joining companies across the world conveying heartfelt messages to the Tony Awards attendees and the global theatre industry.
