Be in the room with Sir Simon Rattle

Thu 13 Apr 2023

The countdown is on until the acclaimed London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) makes its triumphant return to Australia in 2023, with internationally revered conductor Sir Simon Rattle leading his final tour as Music Director of the LSO.

Among the world’s finest orchestras, the LSO commences its highly anticipated Australian tour right here in Brisbane at QPAC.

The orchestra will perform two extraordinary programs with music by Adams, Debussy, Ravel and Mahler in QPAC's Concert Hall on 28 and 29 April.

Featuring 114 musicians, this will be the largest orchestra the LSO has ever brought to Australia and only the fourth Australian tour in its 120-year history.

While tickets to both QPAC concerts are sold out, we are excited to be able to offer an opportunity for audiences to join one of the world’s greatest conductors, Sir Simon Rattle, for an unmissable evening of conversation on Thursday 27 April in QPAC's Concert Hall.

In this exclusive event, Sir Simon will share his thoughts and aspirations with much-loved local music identity, Martin Buzacott, in a wide-ranging discussion that will cover everything from music and life, to the challenges of presenting live music performances in the digital age.

Audience members will have the opportunity to submit questions prior to the evening, with selected questions explored and discussed in this fascinating hour of conversations featuring one of the world's leading lights in orchestral and classical music.

You can also find out more about the role of a conductor from Sir Simon Rattle in this video below:
