When global company Mapei decided to become a QPAC partner, it seemed a natural step after an enduring friendship between the two organisations and Mapei’s long-term commitment to the arts internationally. Mapei’s cultural roots run deep all the way back to their origins in Milan, Italy when in 1984 the company became a corporate sponsor of La Scala Opera House. Mapei is quite literally a part of the internationally renowned opera house through its contribution to the renovation and restoration of the Theatre including Mapei technology and research.
Devotion to culture is a Mapei creed thanks to the firm conviction of the company’s founder, Rodolfo Squinzi, who believed work can never be separated from art and passion. It is from this foundation that Mapei has always supported cultural events and prominent cultural institutions. Giorgio Squinzi (son of Rodolfo) has been on the Board of Directors of La Scala since 2016 and the company’s commitment to the arts has grown even stronger through sponsorship of various prestigious artistic projects around the world.
The partnership between Mapei and QPAC aligns perfectly as we both value creating experiences for our customers. Mapei is a trusted partner of architectural designers, contractors, suppliers and clients working on prestigious building contracts and eco-sustainable projects. The company values the close bond they enjoy with QPAC allowing opportunities to share cultural events with an ever-increasing number of clients. The partnership offers Mapei clients the chance to be a part of special musical, ballet and theatre performances while strengthening collaborative relationships.
Mapei Australia’s General Manager, Marco De Santis, believes that a connected world is a better world and for the business to thrive, it’s important for Mapei to contribute resources within the network to make a positive difference in the community.
“Investing in people and culture is an integral part of the Mapei strategy and we are proud to continue our partnership with QPAC which aligns well with our social responsibility commitment globally and in Australia.”
“For us, culture and creativity are the underlying foundations for growth, innovation and are the drive towards competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability. This is why globally, we support cultural events and prominent cultural institutions to supply our know-how and solutions to renovate and develop artistic monumental heritage. Since becoming the founding member and the first sponsors of La Scala Theatre in Milan in 1984, Mapei products have been used to renovate many iconic cultural venues including Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, and the “Antonio Salinas” Museum of Archaeology in Palermo. We are deeply grateful for the continuing partnership with QPAC, known for its rich heritage in theatre and music, the perfect choice for Mapei to connect with people and communities in Queensland.”
Mapei’s generous support of QPAC enables us to deliver an ongoing program of diverse and engaging arts for our community.
