Our 250th birthday celebrations for Ludwig van Beethoven will come to a climax with our biggest and best Beethoven concert of the year. Eminent Australian conductor Simone Young will lead the Orchestra in a special performance of arguably Beethoven’s greatest masterpiece – his majestic Choral Symphony No.9. This sweep of musical glory culminates in the famous ‘Ode to Joy’ melody – music guaranteed to give you goosebumps. In the first half of this spectacular concert, pianist Jan Lisiecki performs Beethoven’s elegant Piano Concerto No.4.
