In the 19th century, the musical world started to revolve around Vienna. At the same time, composers were proud of their home countries and the diverse musical styles that were part of their heritage. All this contributed to a rich pool of melodic and crowd-pleasing music. We’ll give you a tour of the musical landscape of this great era that produced composers such as Brahms, Dvořák, Schubert, Johann Strauss Jr. and more. This concert features music from composers based in Vienna as well as music from eastern European countries that influenced music written in Vienna. Just like a road trip around Europe without the hassle of passports!
