Simply the best…that’s the reputation the Queensland Pops Orchestra’s very own ‘Three Amigos’ have earned. Back by popular demand to open the new concert season, who better than Brisbane’s three favourite swooning crooners – Nathan Kneen, Jason Lopez and Gregory Moore – to lend their operatic, musical theatre, and comedic talents to the first series concert of 2020. Their benevolence is in full swing, stealing the limelight as soloists and fusing their individual timbres to produce a chemistry second to none.
Simply The Best draws together all those arias and songs that have stood the test of time – together with some new and exciting tunes that ‘the boys’ will makes their very own. Enjoy as they delve into the songs and styles that have made them…well, simply the best! Add to the mix a generous smattering of orchestral showstoppers, surprise segments (combined with a healthy portion of vocal competitiveness from the three protagonists), and you have the winning formula for the ultimate smash hit show.
Between them, Nathan, Adam, and Greg have a collective wealth of stagecraft and vocal artistry under their belts: all three have been members of the internationally successful The Ten Tenors, and each has notched up an impressive resume of solo and musical theatre performances in Australia and internationally.
With a string of successful CD recordings between them, the ‘Three Amigos’ continue to go from strength to strength in the global world of entertainment. Greg was invited to make his very own TV Special for Foxtel, now available on DVD. He regularly traverses the seven seas serenading on luxury cruise ships, produces variety concerts for the Brisbane City Council and is a regular on the international Scotland the Brave touring circuit.
Opera-trained Adam has appeared on TV and radio across the world on the back of his two-time Guinness World Record win for singing the highest vocal note ever by a male vocalist: to be precise, the record note is C sharp in the 8th octave (one note above the range of a piano!). Adam specialises in a broad spectrum of music styles – his Latin can take on Ricky Martin’s at a walk.
Meanwhile, Nathan scored a gig as guest artist at the German final of the Eurovision Song Contest, and he’s been a guest performer during US chat show Queen Oprah’s tour of Australia. He does a mean interpretation of The Beatles’ great classic, “Hey Jude”, and was invited to Rome to perform at the Canonisation of Mary Mackillop. It doesn’t get any more global than that!
Simply the best entertainment is on offer for the launch of the Queensland Pops Orchestra’s star-studded 2020 season. Enjoy the Pops’ favourite performers and greatest tunes in a lavishly presented, totally awesome set list for the ultimate best of the pops concert experience.
