Music Inspired by Roald Dahl’s Classic Stories
One of the world’s most masterful storytellers, Roald Dahl has captured the imagination of millions of readers all over the world. In this irreverent and magical concert, Elise McCann (2016 Helpmann Award winner for her role as ‘Miss Honey’ in the hit musical Matilda) performs music inspired by Dahl’s works.
Dahlesque features songs from Tim Minchin and Dennis Kelly’s mega-hit musical Matilda, the classic Gene Wilder movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Pasek and Paul’s 2010 musical James and the Giant Peach, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman’s current hit West End musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the James Bond theme “You Only Live Twice” and more, all accompanied by the incredible Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra.
Dahlesque is outrageous, uplifting, heart pounding, naughty and imaginative storytelling at its best. It’s a golden ticket for kids and adults of all ages!
