Covid-19 update: Thursday, 30 September 2021
Under current Queensland COVID Restrictions, QPAC is now operating at 75% capacity with masks required at all times. All patrons impacted by these changes will be contacted directly via email with details about their performance.
What happens when a computer has creative control of six dancers?
The theatre darkens and the lights come up on a performance that is completely unknown – for not just the audience, but the dancers too.
Welcome to Forgery, where a complex series of algorithms and cutting-edge technology dictate each performance – a show that’s directed entirely by computer and is different every single performance.
Developed by award-winning Australian dancer, sound designer, choreographer and creative coder, Alisdair Macindoe, the six renowned Australasian Dance Collective dancers will be fed instructions live on stage. From opening night to closing, every show will be completely unique.
With the program’s algorithms also in charge of lighting, costumes and music, ADC courageously embraces this bespoke technology to pose questions about creative agency in the digital age.
Strobe lighting, smoke and fog will be in use during the performance.
Connecting safely at QPAC
QPAC is operating at 100% capacity and masks are not mandatory, however we do strongly recommend you bring your mask with you to the theatre for use when physical distancing is not possible.
