Embracing the ‘Best of British’ music in all its richness and diversity is a perennial treat for both the Queensland Pops Orchestra and our fabulous and enthusiastic audiences… all hands on deck, everyone takes part and it’s one of the best-loved orchestral events of the Pops calendar.
The Queensland Pops Orchestra is delighted to welcome two of opera’s brightest stars: Baritone Sam Hartley and Mezzo Soprano Cassandra Seidemann. Both graduated in Queensland and joined Opera Queensland’s Young Artist Program which gave them a great launching pad for their individual soaring international careers. Joining them will be the Voices of Birralee, Toowoomba Contemporary Choral and Thistle Highland Dancers.
Who could forget “Jerusalem” and “Rule Britannia” … just two of the rainbow tapestry of British musical colours to be unfurled (and remember flag waving is a given).
Smoke, fog and pyrotechnics will be in use throughout this performance.
