QPAC Terms and Conditions of Entry
To ensure the enjoyment and safety of all patrons when visiting QPAC, the following document outlines the policy of the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) regarding the terms and conditions applying to patrons if they are to be permitted entry to, and whilst they are at, QPAC.

For the safety of yourself and others, patrons must follow the direction of QPAC management and staff at all times. If a patron is aware of an issue that impacts on the safety of themselves or others, the patron should report it to QPAC staff immediately.
To ensure the safety and security of all patrons, QPAC reserves the right to inspect all bags and personal belongings that patrons wish to take into the theatres. Searches will be carried out courteously and discreetly. Any prohibited items (described below) will not be cloaked and must either be discarded or removed from the QPAC venue. Any patron refusing to cooperate with this policy will not be allowed entry into the theatre.
QPAC reserves the right to determine when a patron's behaviour is objectionable or disruptive to other patrons or performers and, if necessary, to refuse entry to the person or eject them from the premises. QPAC also reserves the right to prevent an objectionable patron from purchasing tickets for or attending future performances at QPAC for either a fixed period of time, indefinitely or until reassurance has been provided by that person that they will comply with these Conditions of Entry.
Prohibited items include knives; fireworks; explosives; smoke canisters; aerosols; air-horns; noisemakers; flares; weapons; dangerous or hazardous items; controlled, dangerous or illegal substances; laser devices; bottles; glass vessels; cans; poles; any animals other than guide, hearing and assistance dogs as defined under the Guide, Hearing and Assistance Dogs Act 2009 (Qld); or any article that may be used as a weapon and/or compromise public safety or which may pose a hazard or nuisance to any other person. Any person in possession of such items will be deemed an "objectionable patron" and refused entry to, or removed from, QPAC's premises. Oversize items including large bags, large umbrellas and all backpacks present a trip hazard and are not permitted within QPAC theatres. Such items must be cloaked. Any patrons found in possession of these items within the theatre will be asked to leave the theatre to attend to the cloaking of the item and, where the performance has commenced, will only be permitted to return to the performance at an appropriate break in the performance in accordance with the late seating rules as determined by the event promoter. In accordance with QPAC policy, a large bag is defined as a bag measuring 30cm long and 24cm wide or larger (i.e. larger than a standard A4 sheet of paper), or a bag that QPAC staff consider, at their absolute discretion, to be of an irregular size and which may create an unacceptable risk to the health and safety of patrons if permitted within QPAC theatres. Patrons should seek guidance from QPAC cloakroom staff if they are unsure whether they have a large bag, large umbrella or any prohibited item. Failure to comply with this policy and to cooperate with the cloaking of these items may result in the patron being deemed an "objectionable patron" and subject to removal from the premises.
Food and beverages are strictly prohibited in the theatres at QPAC, other than bottled water and food and beverages sold by QPAC in accordance with the restrictions and exceptions that may apply at the discretion of management. We request that all food, snacks and beverages be consumed or discarded prior to entering any of the theatres within QPAC. QPAC reserves the right to refuse entry to a theatre to anyone who is in possession of food, snacks or beverages (other than bottled water) and to remove anyone found consuming the same within the theatre. Patrons are not permitted to bring outside food, snacks or beverages into, or consume such items within, QPAC, including theatres and food and beverage establishments. QPAC reserves the right to:

Use of recording devices of any kind (including still photography and video cameras, audio tape recorders, digital photo capture devices and mobile telephones) by non-authorised people is strictly prohibited in all QPAC theatres and other venues where QPAC managed events are held, unless QPAC and the performer, artist or producer have expressly waived this restriction. Any waiver will be at the absolute discretion of the performer, artist or producer of the performance. Recording devices carried by unauthorised individuals will be confiscated and safely stored by QPAC until the performance is over. It will be the responsibility of the owner to retrieve the stored device(s). QPAC reserves the right to require the deletion of any photographic, video or audio images and recordings made in breach of this policy and to hold any recording devices until such time as the images and recordings are deleted. Failure to comply may cause a patron to be deemed an "objectionable patron" and be subject to removal from the premises.
All QPAC patrons must wear appropriate attire for a public place and must wear appropriate footwear at all times. Clothing with objectionable, vulgar or offensive writing, images or imprints may not be worn at QPAC. QPAC management will determine at their absolute discretion whether attire and footwear is appropriate, according to generally accepted and reasonable standards. Hats and headwear must be removed upon entering any of the performance spaces; and they cannot be worn by patrons unless such head coverings are recognised as part of the religious or national dress of the patron. This policy is to minimise the obstruction of other patrons' view of all performances.
To minimise distraction of the on-stage artists as well as the QPAC patrons who were seated prior to the performance start, generally any QPAC patrons who are not seated at the commencement of a performance will not be permitted to enter the theatre until an appropriate break in the performance. The appropriate break in the performance is predetermined by the Promoter or Stage Manager and communicated to QPAC staff prior to the performance. Whilst every effort will be made to seat you in your designated seat to minimise disruption to the performance, how and where late arrivals are seated will be venue and performance specific and at the absolute discretion of QPAC staff.
All mobile phones and paging devices must be turned off during any event held at QPAC, unless advised otherwise. Any patron that refuses to adhere to this requirement will be deemed an "objectionable patron" and be subject to removal from the premises.
In accordance with Queensland legislation, QPAC is a smoke-free building. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the QPAC precinct. Any patron that refuses to adhere to this requirement shall be deemed an "objectionable patron" and be subject to removal from the premises. From time to time during performances, artists may use herbal cigarettes for dramatic effect. Any dramatised smoking of cigarettes as part of a production will be non harmful to patrons and does not constitute a waiver of the above condition.
QPAC is an inclusive venue and is equipped with accessibility features including wheelchair lifts, ramps and wheelchair companion seating. For patrons who require special seating, access or assistance please contact QPAC in advance to make arrangements, either at the time of booking or by calling QPAC Reception on (07) 3840 7444. QPAC will endeavour, as far as it is reasonably practicable, to accommodate patrons with all conditions and disabilities and will work with those patrons and their guests to make reasonable adjustments required to facilitate their comfort and safety at QPAC. Patrons are encouraged to advise management of any special requirements they have in advance of their visit to QPAC and to work with QPAC management and staff to accommodate those special requirements. Any information provided to QPAC regarding a patron's medical condition will be handled confidentially and sensitively. QPAC recognises that there may be occasions when certain adjustments cannot be accommodated and in those circumstances will work with the patron to find a suitable alternative.
QPAC reserves the right to determine if paramedics or emergency medical personnel are required following an incident at QPAC. Should any patron require or receive medical treatment while at QPAC, it is imperative that the patron take all reasonable steps to notify QPAC management of the circumstances of the incident and the treatment required or received. QPAC will keep a record of all incidents and treatments and those records will be handled confidentially and sensitively. At all times the overriding priority is the health and safety of all QPAC patrons and staff.
Infants and children may be allowed access to QPAC theatres, at the absolute discretion of the Promoter, provided they are accompanied by a paying adult and they do not distract other patrons. If an infant or child is allowed access to a theatre and becomes a distraction to other patrons, QPAC staff may request that the accompanying adult remove the infant or child from the theatre. QPAC staff may offer the accompanying adult and infant or child access to the viewing rooms, which are available in all theatres other than the Cremorne Theatre, subject to availability. Infants are to be nursed by the accompanying adult and may not occupy a seat unless a ticket has been purchased for the infant. Baby capsules are not permitted inside the theatres, including the viewing rooms, even if a ticket has been purchased for the infant. QPAC's seating is not designed for baby capsules, which can create a safety risk to both the infant and other patrons. Prams are generally not permitted inside the theatres, including the viewing rooms, as they obstruct walkways and create a risk to the health and safety of the child and other patrons. QPAC staff may allow a pram in the disability access area upon request and subject to availability. QPAC staff can provide booster cushions for children upon request, subject to availability.
Patrons voluntarily assume the risk of all damage and loss (including property damage, personal injury and economic and consequential loss) howsoever arising (including by negligence) at QPAC, including damage or loss caused by the acts or omissions of other patrons, employees or agents of QPAC.
